Where the dashboard odometer, service history, and ECU-logged mileage all agree, the reading is treated as reliable and published on the condition report.
Odometer fraud is a legitimate concern in any used-vehicle market, and export buyers are right to ask about it — you're often ordering a vehicle you cannot inspect in person, so the documentation has to do the work a physical inspection normally would. Classic signs of odometer tampering include a mileage reading that's inconsistent with the vehicle's visible wear (pedal wear, seat condition, steering wheel condition) relative to its stated age, service stickers or records referencing a higher mileage than currently displayed, and any mismatch between the dashboard display and the ECU-logged figure pulled during diagnostic scanning. Any of these findings during our pre-export inspection process is enough to hold a vehicle back from listing until the discrepancy is resolved or explained.
What buyers can additionally check
Once your deal is confirmed and you receive the full VIN and ownership documents, you can independently verify mileage history where a vehicle history record exists in the country of origin. We recommend keeping this documentation together with your condition report for your own records — it's useful not only for your own confidence in the purchase but often for registration or resale purposes in your destination market later.
