Buyers researching used BYD exports frequently ask the same question first: which model gets them the lowest purchase price? The answer is not a single model but a price tier, because asking price on a used BYD unit is driven by two things — the vehicle's original new-factory price and its current battery health and mileage. This guide ranks our current used inventory of 12 models into five rough price tiers so buyers can quickly find the right starting point for their budget.

How Used BYD Pricing Actually Works

As a general rule, a used BYD's asking price sits at roughly 55-65% of that model's original new factory price, adjusted up or down based on the specific unit's mileage, battery state of health (SoH), and ownership history. That means two used units of the same model can carry noticeably different prices if one has significantly higher mileage or lower SoH than the other. When comparing models against each other, though, the biggest driver of price tier is simply which model line the vehicle belongs to.

Tier 1: Lowest Asking Price

  • Seagull — 2023, 12,100 km, 98% SoH
  • e2 — 2021, 52,300 km, 87% SoH

These are our most accessible units. The Seagull is a compact city car with a low original factory price and near-new condition, while the e2's higher mileage and lower SoH push its already-modest base price down further.

Tier 2: Value Tier

  • Yuan UP — 2023, 17,800 km, 96% SoH
  • Qin PLUS EV — 2023, 16,400 km, 98% SoH

Both are compact-to-midsize models with low mileage and strong battery health, sitting a step above the entry tier in original factory price but still well below flagship pricing.

Tier 3: Mid-Range

  • Seal U — 2023, 18,200 km, 97% SoH
  • Sealion 6 — 2023, 19,700 km, 95% SoH
  • e6 — 2022, 48,500 km, 89% SoH

The Seal U and Sealion 6 are larger SUVs with higher original factory prices than the value tier. The e6 belongs here on original price alone, though its higher mileage and 89% SoH mean it is typically priced toward the lower end of this tier.

Tier 4: Upper-Mid

  • Seal — 2023, 21,500 km, 96% SoH
  • Sealion 7 — 2023, 14,300 km, 97% SoH
  • Shark — 2024, 8,600 km, 99% SoH

These units combine higher original factory prices with excellent battery health and low mileage, keeping resale value strong relative to the flagship tier above.

Tier 5: Highest Asking Price

  • Han EV — 2022, 32,800 km, 93% SoH
  • Tang EV — 2022, 39,600 km, 91% SoH

The Han EV and Tang EV are BYD's flagship sedan and three-row SUV, with the highest original factory prices in the lineup. Even with more mileage and slightly lower SoH than newer units elsewhere in our inventory, their asking prices remain the highest of the 12 models we currently offer.

How to Use This Ranking

If your priority is the lowest possible landed cost, start with the Tier 1 or Tier 2 models and confirm the diagnostic report before committing. If you need cargo capacity, range, or interior space that only the larger-battery models provide, expect to pay proportionally more regardless of mileage or SoH, since original factory price sets the price floor for each model line. In every case, ask for the specific unit's diagnostic report — SoH and mileage move the price within a tier, but they rarely move a unit between tiers.
